Franchise Sale

There’s a franchise sale….well it’s not surprising that franchise sales have been growing over the last few years as more and more people have decided that they want to become their own boss. With most of these people looking for the opportunity to increase their earnings and financial freedom the franchise industry often holds the answer. The money factor is often the major driving force behind the decision to look at a franchise sale this should not be the only consideration as this can often be a downfall.

The franchise sale must be looked at very closely, this is going to become such a major part of your life. You must look at the requirements of the franchise and decide that you can work and produce results in each and every role. If the franchise requires you to handle an animal and you have a fear of dogs it might not be the right franchise for you. To make the franchise sale a success you should put yourself into each of the roles required and be honest with yourself that you can do the job or be capable of learning that role. It’s important that you are honest at this point before you go and invest your money. There are a few questions that would be worth asking yourself.

What do you need to earn? Be realistic and make sure you know what your expenditures are each month and what money you’ll need to earn to cover these. If you can see yourself in the franchise being able to give good service with a quick turnaround your earning potential is far better.

Are you able through the business to reach your financial target? If you have to start outsourcing work or travelling large distances will the business actually turn a profit. If you can keep the work in house, limit the travel expenses and even reduce the cost of materials your ultimate goal of profit should be achievable.

Is the franchise income based around single one off sales or are there residuals involved? It can be the case that with residual incomes you may spend more time initially dealing with a customer but in the long term may have little contact but still be generating revenue. If it is one off sales you may have to push customers through your business at a quicker rate to maintain your profit margin.

What experience do I need for the franchise? This will vary depending on the franchise and the training that they offer.

Will i need to get an office or not? Again this will all be dependent upon the franchise but look at what work will be involved and whether you have the space at home to work. Your business may involve visiting clients so office space may not be needed at all.

One of the most important questions though within any franchise sale is that when next asked ‘What  do you do?’. Will your answer be full of pride? Investing in a franchise offers so many benefits but it will come down to you and your passion to make the business a true success.
