Hi – Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. This page is my opportunity to give you a quick overview of who I am and a bit about my background.
Let me start at the beginning…
Growing up I had always played sport, and because of this love, the only way my life was going to go was into the sport industry. I coached, taught and eventually lectured in my chosen specialist area of Sport Psychology.
However in 2006, I made a SCARY DECISION, a decision that at that time could have gone one way or the other…. Looking back, I now need to ask myself …. WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING SIMON!
(Blimey, I sound just like my Mum)
At the time, my wife was just about to have our first child, therefore ensuring everything around me was secure and stable should have been my priority. Most people get this security from a regular income, achieved by having a full time job. When you are just about to have your first child, Dad is traditionally meant to go out and ensure the money keeps coming in.
So how many people, two weeks before their wife is about to give birth, would have made the decision to quit full time employment and start their own business? I did….
Just to add to the pressure, my daughter was actually seriously ill for the first six months of her life. Both Kirsty (my wife) and I were actually aware of this illness long before our first born was born, her illness had been picked up at the three month scan.
So at a time when most would have done the “norm”, or as my best fried refers to it; “lived life in the ‘box’. I made the most important decision of my life.
I gave up that security, that stability, risked everything my family had and invested it all into my business. This investment was only £10,000.
Looking back now it was the scariest decision of my life, however with everything resting on it I had to succeed, failing was never an option!
Having this pressure – along with drive, determination and motivation to be the best – not once (till now) did I ever stop, look back and think what would happen if I failed. Well thank God I didn’t fail and I’m now proud to say that by making that decision and taking that risk, I am on that path of achieving what I set out to do.
The reality is that I don’t think I will ever get to where I want to be. My drive is about being the best; which means just when one thing finishes, the next door opens. Knowing what makes me tick this is never going to change.
So what makes me qualified to put a blog together and share successful marketing strategies and advise budding entrepreneurs on the recipes of success?
That really isn’t for me to answer! All I can tell you about is what I have achieved and you can make your own conclusion of whether you want to join the Activ Club.

A key to my own developments has been from listening to others, watching what the successful people around me do, watching how they do things and learning from them.
There are no prizes for trying to teach yourself new tricks, follow the ones that work, position yourself closely to successful people and by doing this it won’t be long before you start achieving the same results.
I work with our network of franchisees regularly, deliver training seminars to businesses and do one-to-one sessions with entrepreneurs and business owners.
My background was always teaching, helping others and as my specialist subject is Psychology, I love getting down to the nitty gritty of what makes people tick and channeling personalities onto the road of success.
Achieving what you want isn’t easy, do not be under any illusions it is, however what will make you successful above anything else is your ability to keep going, keep moving forwards and believing in what you a doing.
You will fail, things won’t go right all the time, however it is how you deal with this failure that will determine whether you succeed or not .
